SEWAGE SPILL FROM MANHOLE INTO MASSALINA BAYOU
Approximately 6000 gallons of untreated sewage entered a storm drain from manhole

Panama City, Fla. – The City of Panama City reports a release of approximately 6000 gallons of raw sewage from a manhole in the 500 block of 6th Street due to the significant rainfall. The sewage entered a storm drain which empties into Massalina Bayou.
Sewage contamination of water can expose bathers to intestinal viruses, bacteria, and parasites.
The Florida Department of Health in Bay County advises against swimming in Massalina Bayou between 6th Street and 4th Street until further notice.
